Either upgrade the controller first or disconnect it from the network so it cannot communicate with the games. If the games are powered on with the new anoftware software and the controller has not been updated, there will be info sent to the controller it is NOT setup handle, causing it to crash the database.

  1. From the start menu search for and run Remote Desktop Connection.

  2. The computer to connect to is 10.0.8.1

  3. After the Windows Security window opens select More Choices then Use a different account to change the username and password.

  4. If a security certificate message pops up, select OK or Trust to continue.

  5. Once the remote desktop is connected you will be presented with the AGO Trapdoor image. Take a picture or snip of this information and close out the remote session by selecting OK on the Trapdoor.


  6. With the Trapdoor info available, open any web browser and navigate to: https://boxlocker.playags.net   The username is the first part of your email and the password is your normal AGS email password.

  7. Type the AGO Trapdoor info into the Boxlocker website and obtain the password of the day.


  8. The Boxlocker Utility will give you the password of the day.  It is important to copy this password and paste it somewhere.  As seen in the pic below, the password has been copied to the search bar of the browser.  You need to do this because the webpage will timeout and refresh causing you to restart the process.

  9. Open the Remote Desktop Connection from the Start Menu and reconnect to 10.0.8.1

    2. Password: Paste from the boxlocker website.

  11. When Successful, you will see the Progressive Controller’s Desktop

  1. If you plug the USB with the install files into your laptop you should see up to three folders and a txt

    file. Do not add any additional files to the USB, it will cause the install to fail. It may have less folders but not more.

  2. Plug the Sales Order USB, containing the TechAssist folders and instructions, into one of the USB ports on the controller.  The process will automatically start.

  3. When the process starts the BD-ROM Drive will show the GameServer Version being installed. On the desktop you will see the old software being uninstalled, the icons will disappear then reappear

  4. TechAssist will finish installing the game server software and move on to install the LCI Kits. 

  5. When the process is done the USB will be automatically ejected and its name will change to “Removable Disk” or it will disappear from the screen depending on the controller. 

  6. With the server software installed the games need to be setup to talk to the server.  If game setup is already completed, reboot the cabinet through the game’s control menu to send the game’s config to the server.

There are three ways to configure progressive pools: Note auto configure is only used for the initial setup.  If a game needs to be added back to the controller after a ramclear, you will have to add it manually.
