· C030396 Cable (black & Blue)
Required Software:
Open Microsoft Teams and navigate to the Slot Channel in The_Field.

Firmware Update Instruction -- Power Backplane ---
Download Backplane Program and Driver.zip
Navigate to the location your laptop saved the zip file. Right-click on the zip file and select Extract All...
Select Extract – The files will extract and should show you the files.
Save these files somewhere on your laptop.
Windows Driver
The windows driver should already be installed on your company laptop, if it was set up correctly. If the driver is not installed you will need to put in an IT Jira Ticket and work with them. The laptop needs to be connected to a backplane while the driver is being installed. You will know the driver is not installed when the process doesn’t work.
Cabinets
Spectra
Power the game off.
Remove the logic box.
Locate the J15 (SmartID) port on the backplane.
Plug the cable into the J15 port.
Continue to the “On Laptop” step below.
Orion/Icon Backplane Programming
With the cabinet powered off, connect the black/blue cable to Red GLA Adapter board at J7 or TP2 depending on the version of the board. If you do not have the black and blue cable you can disconnect the one on the motherboard to the left of the video card. Plug the USB adapter into the laptop.
On Laptop:
Navigate to the unzipped files from the steps above:
Open the 1WireHost application and perform the following steps:
Attached SmartID devices: no not change
Peripheral Type: Power Backplane.
Even though it is set to Power Backplane when the program opens, you still need to click on the drop-down and select Power Backplane or the Serial # box will stay grayed out.
Device Description: Select the appropriate cabinet model as listed on the serial plate.
Serial #: Enter the cabinet serial number as listed on the serial plate. If this is grayed out, see step 2a above.
Click on the Write Block button and a Programming complete! Box will pop up.
Close the program, reconnect the black/blue cable, and power the game on.
DV1 Power Backplane Programing
Power off game, pull cartridge out enough to access the one wire cable on the motherboard.
. Disconnect cable from motherboard and connect it to the 1Wire programming cable.
Slide cartridge back into place with the cable sticking through the top half moon cut out on top of the cartridge. Leave game powered down.
Open the 1WireHost program to get the cabinet type (Device Description) the backplane is set to and make note of it.
What we have found is that the cabinet type is determined by the Macola ‘Model’ # of the backplane. The model number cannot be changed through the program. Be sure to select the same cabinet type that is show in the step above. Programming the board to a different model #/cabinet type causes the serial number to not show properly in the Main Config screen of the game. See examples below.
Examples of cabinet type and model numbers.
Close the 1WireHost program and open the 1WireBackplane program.
A. Set the ‘Description’ to the cabinet found in the previous step.
B. Type the Serial # with the ‘CJ’ and the ‘-‘ in the serial number.
C. Click ‘Write Block’
A message box will pop up when programming is complete.
Click ‘OK’.
Pull the cartridge out, disconnect the 1Wire programming cable and reconnect the cable back to the motherboard.
Power on game and verify the serial number has been changed in the main config screen.
Trouble Shooting
One wire adapter not found
The light silver cable on the right in the attached picture has the wires pinned wrong. If you are trying to program a backplane board and keep getting “One wire adapter not found” the problem is probably the silver wire. The quick fix is to cross the blue and black wires as seen in the attached pictures.
If you have the correct cables, try disconnecting the cable from the adapter and see if the error changes and allows you to program the backplane after that.
Pinout:
Green to Blue
Red to Black.
Phone line with tab facing away left to right: White, Black, Red, Green, Yellow, Blue.
Error, TMTouchByte never completed
no solution at this time.
The code execution cannot proceed….
This error occurs when you do not have the driver installed.
