Class 3:
Serial number doesn’t match from last reboot. This randomly happened on a cabinet. Check smartID and refresh. Then reboot.
Saw this happen on Spectra Cabinets when a customer was running 21.2 instead of 23.1 which is the lowest version approved for the cabinet.
This error also shows up if there is a short in the cabinet. Disconnect all cables not needed to boot the cabinet and see if the error goes away. As of 8/10/2023 we have had two bad candles or candle wires cause this error.
Class 2: If serial number is correct and the error wont go away it requires a ramclear.
Ran Into this in the Vegas Lab. The backplane was programmed correctly but the Smart ID menu showed the description to be Genesis on an Orion Curve cabinet.
Solution was to replace the logic.
From a customer in the field who was having this issue and has the tools to program the backplane:
I was using 1WireHost on the picture that I previously sent you where it had the correct Serial # and cabinet. I just ran 1WireBackplane and that one comes up with the default Serial # and no cabinet type. Once I fix it there the game comes up with no issues.
It’s possible that that’s what might be happening initially and that’s why we are receiving the new cabinets with this error. AGS might be shooting the backplane using “1WireHost” instead of “1WireBackplane”. They verify that the Serial # and cabinet are programmed but when software is installed, it doesn’t recognize it because they didn’t use the proper app. Hopefully this helps.
