The Server, Net340 and RT860 can all be housed in a single rack server.

Hub

Note: This is not a standard hub and it cannot be replaced with a switch or regular network hub. This hub requires no power (PoE Hub).

Do not use the two ports on the sides. Try to connect network cable as shown in the figure - 4.

NET340

Hard Reset Procedure

On the NET there’s a black switch in a red socket. Remove the NET340 from the Blackbox, then hold down the black switch for 5 seconds, then plug it back into the Blackbox.

This can be required between a wipe to be sure that nothing from the old system is still stored on the NET. See Figure -5.

RT860

Hard Reset Procedure

  1. Set Dipswitch 8 to ON position.

  2. Power cycle the RT860.

  3. Once in the configuration menu, set Dipswitch 5 to ON position.

  4. Set Dipswitch 5 back to OFF position.

  5. Set Dipswitch 8 back to OFF position.

The RT860 is now back to factory default and should boot up automatically.

RT860 Configuration

First of all, make sure there is an LCD screen connected to the RT860 LCD connector and it is working properly.

To access the RT860 configuration mode, the Dipswitch 8 must be set to ON position. Once this is done, restart the RT860 and it will boot into the configuration mode.

Here are the results of the options:

  • Dipswitch 1 - Decrease by 1 the value under the cursor.

  • Dipswitch 2 - Increase by 1 the value under the cursor.

  • Dipswitch 3 - Move the cursor to the left.

  • Dipswitch 4 - Move the cursor to the right.

  • Dipswitch 5 - Reset the current menu parameters to default.

  • Dipswitch 6 - Go to the next menu.

  • Dipswitch 7 - Not Used.

  • Dipswitch 8 - At OFF position, it will save the new parameter and will exit the configuration mode.

It is important that as soon as you trigger an option by setting a Dipswitch to ON position, and you set it back to OFF position. The screen should show something similar to this:

(See Figure - 6, Figure - 7, Figure - 8, & Figure - 9).

To access the second configuration menu, you only have to set the Dipswitch 6 to ON position.

To use a desired function, you need to move the cursor over the function using the 3 & 4 options. Depending on where the cursor is on the LCD screen. You may need to use those options more than once to access the function.

TIP: You can warp from one side of the screen to the other.

Once the cursor is on the function, you wish to use, either use options 1 & 2 to set it to the Next / Previous value. In the Figure - 8, using option 2 would increase the ConfNo function to 1, so the RT860 will now use the RT860_1.cfg configuration file located on the server in the C:\Program Files\TFTPD\folder (See Figure - 9). If set at 0 (default value) it will use the RT860.cfg file.

When you are done. Changing the configuration of the RT860 and set the Dipswitch 8 to OFF position, and the new parameters will be saved and you will automatically exit the configuration mode.

Blackbox Configuration

Requirement: Ensure that you RT is connected to an LCD screen

  • DIPs Switches function:

    • Dipswitch 1 - Decrease the value highlighted.

    • Dipswitch 2 - Increase the value highlighted.

    • Dipswitch 3 - Move the cursor to the left.

    • Dipswitch 4 - Move the cursor to the right.

    • Dipswitch 5 - Reset the current menu to the default parameters.

    • Dipswitch 6 - Move to the Next Page.

    • Dipswitch 7 - Not Used yet.

    • Dipswitch 8 - Set it OFF position to save the new parameters and exit the configuration menu.

    • Dipswitch 9 - Set it ON position to enter the administration menu (requires reboot of Blackbox)

RT860 Configurations:

  1. Turn ON the Dipswitch 8 to enter the configuration menu.

  2. Turn ON and OFF the Dipswitch 6 to go to the Next Page.

  3. Turn ON and OFF the Dipswitch 4 repeatedly to move the cursor to highlight the last digit of the menu (by default the value is 0).

  4. Turn ON and OFF the Dipswitch 2 to increase the digit to the required value (if rt860 file is namedrt860_1.cfg; then, the value must be set to 1).

  5. Turn OFF the Dipswitch 8 to apply and save the current value of the menu. The RT860 should restart by itself.

Installing New Game Themes or Converting Games

Each Bluberi Game Themes requires its own Net340 and black hub. These games cannot be run with any other there to the game server. They MUST be run by themselves or Issues will occur.

New Games

Net340 - A new Net340 with the proper 303c-A and 303-B software installed is needed. A new Dkey is also needed. Using the Dipswitches set the bank number to one that is not currently in use. (NO NOT REUSE A OLD DKEY THAT HAS BEEN ON THE SERVER IN THE PAST).

RT860 - Multiple Net340s can be plugged into 1 RT860 depending on the RT860s Config#. For Example, Royal Reels, Liberty 7, Cool Cats can ll be plugged into the same RT860 but Superball will be on its own RT860 as it uses a different RT860 Config#.

  • Step 1 - Once the games are installed and connected to the Net340 and RT860, you will need to provide information from each new game to the TAC (Technical Assistance Center) or IAA agent (Installation & Administration Agent) you are working with.

  • Game DKEY (Each game has its own individual Dkey # found under the Versions Tab in the Main Menu).

  • Net Dkey (The Net Dkey is also found under the Versions Tab in the Main Menu).

  • Theme and version ie. Royal Reels v5.07 (This can be found on the software DIMM and also found in the Main Menus upper left corner).

This information is needed so the TAC or IAA agent can properly assign the Net card and games to the proper theme and profile on the server.

If the agent is unable to see the game DKEY, you can force that DKEY number to the server by attempting to pull the Game Config 3 to 5 times. This should push the game DKEY to the server so the agent can properly assign in.

Once the agent pushes the profile to the game; you will:

  • Step 2 - Pull the Game Profile from the Game Config Tab in the Main Menu. You should see denominations pop up in (GREEN) color. Verify with the casino that the proper Denominations are selected. If changes are needed to be made let the agent know.

At this time you can set all the casino parameters to ie. :

  1. SAS Config.

  2. Cash In

  3. Cash Out

  4. Jackpot Limits

  5. Cabinet Peripherals

  • Step 3 - On the Main Menu in lower left corner you should see ‘Send Config’. Once sent; you should see the ‘Game Configuration Sent Okay' Windows pop up on screen.

  • Step 4 - Now go to each game and read config and it will pull the main game settings from the Netcard. (You will need to change the SAS Asset Number and Machine Number on each game and pull Game profile from the server).

Converting Games to a New Title Not Already on The Floor

When Converting games to New Titles not already existing on the floor; you will basically follow the steps for installing new games. In most cases, you can reuse the old DKeys. If the DKeys are unable to be removed from the old theme; then, a new DKeys will be needed.

Once you have installed the new Net340; connected the games to it and swapped the software in the games

  • Follow step 1 thru 4 from the Installing New Games.

Converting Games to Titles Already on The Floor

When converting games to titles already on the floor no new Netcard is needed. Simply run the converted games network to the proper Netcard for the Title.

Once the Software and networking has been swapped over:

  • Follow step 1 in the Installing New Games

Once the information has been sent over and the TAC (Technical Assistance Center) or IAA agent (Installation & Administration Agent) has allocated the games:

  • Follow step 2 from the Installing New Games

  • Verify the games are correct and match the games they share a Netcard with.

Connecting 1 Theme via 2 Netcards

Sometimes Casinos will have 2 banks of games across the floor of games across the floor of the same theme. But they do not share the same Blackbox. If the casino wants those games to share Progressives the Netcards can be linked via the server.

  • Step 1 - Verify the titles are the exact same version and theme.

  • Step 2 - Verify the Net cards are connected to the same Bluberi Server.

  • Step 3 - Contact the TAC (Technical Assistance Center) or IAA agent (Installation & Administration Agent) you are working with and provide them with the Net Card DKey for both Net Cards you want to link together.

  • Step 4 - TAC (Technical Assistance Center) or IAA agent (Installation & Administration Agent) will link those Net Cards via the server so the games share the same progressives even though they do not share the same Net Card.

  • Step 5 - Verify the Progressives match and increment properly when the games are played.

Replacing Max Board

When replacing a Max Board on a Bluberi cabinet its important to note what software is to be swapped to the new max board.

  • Step 1 - Power Game OFF.

  • Step 2 - Unplug all Peripherals from the top of the Max Board. ie.:

    • Bill Acceptor

    • Touchscreen

    • Printer

    • SAS Cable

    • Video Cables

    • Network Cables

  • Step 3 - Unplug the Games DKEY from the lower left of the Max Board.

Note: The DKEY remains with the game and will be used with the new Max Board.

  • Step 4 - Pull the Max Board straight up and out of the Logic Box.

  • Step 5 - Remove the following:

    • Sphinx Chip

    • Sound Controller Chip

    • Software DIMM from the board.

Note: Be careful not to bend any pins on the Sphinx or Sound Controller when removing.

  • Step 6 - Install the Software you removed in Step 5 onto the new Max Board.

Note: That the Sphinx has a black dot in the in the corner that correlates to the white circle on the Max Board. The Sound Controller and a Key Slot or notch on one end that correlates to a white notch on the Max Board. The Software DIMM can only be installed on e way as the notch on the DIMM is off center. This should slide in fairly easily if lined up.

  • Step 7 - Install new Max Board into the Logic Box using the rails to slide the Max Board down into the Edge Harness. Make sure the Edge Harness is aligned properly before seating the board all the way down.

  • Step 8 - Install all Peripherals removed in Step 2 and Step 3.

  • Step 9 - Make sure that DIP SWITCH 8 is pushed down to Ram Clear the new Max Board upon first boot.

  • Step 10 - Power game on the setup game as you would after a Ram Clear.

Replacing Net340

When replacing a Net340. There are steps to be taken to insure the least amount of network issues.

  • Step 1 - Take note of what cables are plugged into the Net340 and where.

Note: Taking a photo is highly recommended.

  • Step 2 - Unplug the cables and slide the Net340 out of the Blackbox.

Note: DO NOT POWER OFF BLACKBOX IF OTHER NET340 CARDS ARE ACTIVE. THE NET340 IS HOT SWAPPABLE.

  • Step 3 - Remove the 303c-A, 303c-B Chips from the Net340.

Note: Verify your new Net340 has a preinstalled AGS / C8 Net chip installed. If not remove the chip from the old Net340.

  • Step 4 - Remove the Net340 DKEY and take note of the DIP SWITCH settings.

  • Step 5 - Install the software and DKEY removed from Step 3 and Step 4 onto the new Net340.

  • Step 6 - Change the DIP SWITCH settings on the new Net340 to match the Net340 you removed.

  • Step 7 - Install the new Net340 into the Blackbox and plug in all cables that where removed in Step 1.

Replacing RT860

When replacing the RT860 there are steps to be taken to insure the least amount of network issues.

  • Step 1 - Take note of what cables are plugged are plugged into the RT860 and where.

Note: Taking a photo is highly recommended.

  • Step 2 - Unplug all cables plugged into the front of the RT860 and also unplug the Screen Comm cable that is plugged in on the side of the RT860 if one is installed.

  • Step 3 - Remove the RT860 from the Blackbox and connect all cable that where unplugged.

Note: DO NOT POWER OFF BLACKBOX IF OTHER NET340 CARDS ARE ACTIVE. THE NET340 IS HOT SWAPPABLE.

  • Step 4 - Install the new RT860 into the Blackbox and connect all cables that where unplugged.

  • Step 5 - Refer to the RT860 Configuration in this manual to setup the new RT860 if needed.

Note: Depending on Themes using the RT860 the Config # may need to be changed to 0 or 1.

Trouble Shooting

Max 340 LEDs

LED 1

  • Flash once at start up - Normal reset.

  • Flash twice at start up _ Hard Reset.

  • Flash Once - Bytes not receiving from C8.

  • Flash twice - Once byte written for the C8, but not read.

  • Flash Third - Received packet not decipherable probably because of encryption. The C8 Probably belongs to another client.

LED 2

  • Flash - C8 Error.

  • Flash twice - External DKEY problem.

LED 3

  • Flash - Trap, verify ROMs A and B. LED 1 flash the number of times corresponding to the trap number.

  • Flash - twice - SNIDE problem.

LED 4

  • Flashing - ROMs A and B are reversed.

Halt LED

  • Halt LED is lit or flashing - Problem reading A and B ROMs. The CPU falls in a trap but cannot execute it.

Reset LED

  • Reset LED is lit or flashing - There is probably no program. Verify the ROM.

Power LED

  • Power LED is not lit - There is a problem with the Power Supply.

RT860 v2.02 Error While Booting

If you get this error right after the baud rate display on the LCD, “Interrupt pending 156 CSC4:160Pending in CSC4:000XX (…)” we don’t have the cause of this issue. However, we know how to fix it. Simply by resetting the settings to factory defaults.

Procedure to follow on the RT860:

  • Set dipswitch 8 to ON position.

  • Power cycle the Blackbox.

  • Once in the configuration menu, set dipswitch to ON position.

  • Set dipswitch 5 back to OFF position.

  • Set dipswitch 8 back to OFF position.

  • The RT is now back with factory defaults and should boot normally.

RT860 Displaying N on the Blackbox Screen

If the RT860 is displaying the letter N on the Blackbox screen, the issue is related to the RT860.cfgconfiguration file.

  • Browse to C:\Program Files\TFTPD\ or C:\Program Files (x86)\TFTPD\

  • Open the configuration file corresponding to the RT860

  • Scroll down to the end of the configuration.

  • Add 2 blank lines a the end of the configuration file.

Cannot Portnit or RT860

The RT860 is not able to communicate with the server.

Check the network cables between the RT860 and the server. If you have a hub/switch between the server and the RT860, you might want to check this piece of equipment. If all of this fails, remove all NET340 from the RT860 and try to reboot it. If the error message disappears. Then, add one NET340 at a time and see when the error message appears again. It could either be a bad port on the RT860 or a bad NET340 that is causing the problem. Replacing the RT860 might be necessary if all else fails.

RT860 Error Messages

When booting up, the RT860 board get it configuration from an TFTPD server. The TFTPD usually is being hosted on the same server as the DHCP. Once the RT receives it configuration file, it may happen that the ‘LED’ display return an error. Here’s a list of the errors you could see:

  • Error requesting the file %s” “From %s In TFTP”. Unable to find the config file with TFTPP”.

  • Config file %s too large” “Size: %d max: %d”. The config file exceeds 10kb.

  • Config file %s too small” “Size: %d”. The config file is less than 10kb.

  • Error too many servers In %s”. There is a maximum of 20 servers in the config file.

  • Error In config file %s” “Too many IP for server %d max: %d”. There is a maximum of 30 IP Addresses per server.

  • Error In config file %s” “Too many server (%d) by port max:20”. There is a maximum of 20 servers in the config file.

Network Troubleshooting Guide

This guide will try to cover as many network issues that can be encountered on a generic casino network with Bluberi devices and how to solve them. Refer to the topology below and refer to the problem number for more detail.

VGM to HUB connection Messages and symptoms:

In the Network Test panel, you will have a “Not Received” message. See picture 1.
Possible causes:

  1. The VGM is not networked.

  2. The network cable is bad.

  3. The RJ45 connector on the gaming board is defective.

  4. The RJ45 connector on the HUB is defective.

Solutions:

  1. Make sure a network is properly connected from the VGM to the HUB.

  2. Verify the integrity of the network cable and replace if needed.

  3. Replace the gaming board.

  4. Try a different port. Look to

HUB to NET340 Connection

When there is a connectivity issue to the NET340, on the top of the VGM screen the “net” line will have missing information. See picture 2.

Possible causes:

  1. There is no connection from the HUB to the NET340.

  2. The network cable is bad.

  3. The RJ45 connector on the HUB is defective.

  4. The Local Net port on the NET340 is defective.

  5. The NET340 is not powered on.

  6. There is an issue with the NET340.

Solutions:

  1. Verify the network cable is correctly connected from the HUB to a Global Net port on the NET340.

  2. Verify the integrity of the network cable and replace if needed.

  3. Try a different port. If this solves the issue, look to have the HUB replaced.

  4. Try the other Local Net port on the NET340. If this solves the issue, look to have the NET340 replaced.

  5. Make sure the NET340 is correctly connected to the BLACKBOX. Make sure the BLACKBOX is powered
    on. If the issue is still occurring, try

    1. connecting the NET340 in a different power slot on the BLACKBOX.

  6. Refer to the NET340 knowledge base for further troubleshooting information.

Net340 to RT860 Connection

When there is no communication between the NET340 and the RT860, the RT860 Ping will have a status of
“Waiting”. This can be found in the Network Test screen of the VGM. See picture 3.

Possible causes:

  1. The NET340 Dipswitch 8 is set to OFF. This forces the NET340 to be in standalone mode and will not
    communicate with the RT860.

  2. There is no connection from the NET340 to the RT860.

  3. The cable is bad.

  4. The Global Net port on the NET340 is defective.

  5. The GSP-485 port on the RT860 unto which the NET340 is connected is defective.

  6. The RT860 is not powered on.

  7. There is an issue with the RT860.

Solutions:

  1. Make sure the NET340 Dipswitch 8 is set to ON.

  2. Verify the cable is correctly connected from the NET340 to the RT860.

  3. Verify the integrity of the cable and replace if needed.

  4. Try the other Global Net port on the NET340. If this solves the issue, look to have the NET340 replaced.

  5. Try another GSP-485 port on the RT860. If this solves the issue, look to have the RT860 replaced.

  6. Make sure the RT860 is correctly connected to the BLACKBOX. Make sure the BLACKBOX is powered
    on. If the issue is still occurring, try connecting the RT860 in a different power slot on the BLACKBOX.

  7. Refer to the RT860 knowledge base for further troubleshooting information.

RT860 to Network Switch Connection

When there is a communication issue at this level, the “Cannot PortInit” message will show up on the LCD
screen. This means during the boot process, the RT860 was not able to communicate with the server.
Possible causes:

  1. There is no connection from the RT860 to the Network Switch.

  2. There is no connection from the Network Switch to the Game Server.

  3. The network cables are bad.

  4. The ETHER port on the RT860 is defective.

  5. The RJ45 port on the Network Switch is defective.

  6. The Game Server Network Card is defective.

  7. There is an issue with the Network Switch.

Solutions:

  1. Verify the network cable is correctly connected from the RT860 to the Network Switch.

  2. Verify the network cable is correctly connected from the Network Switch to the Game Server.

  3. Verify the integrity of the network cable connected from the RT860 to the Network Switch. If the RT860
    is still getting the “Cannot PortInit” message, verify the network cable from the Network Switch to the
    Game Server. Replace any bad network cable.

  4. Try the other ETHER port on the RT860. If this solves the issue, look to have the RT860 replaced.

  5. Try a different RJ45 port on the Network Switch. If this solves the issue, depending on the number of
    ports on the Network Switch, a replacement might be possible.

  6. Refer to the Network Card troubleshooting guide for more information.

  7. If all else fail, we need to have the network troubleshooted by an IT. Inform the onsite Tech of the
    situation and have them take proper action.

Network Timeout

Game is not receiving information from Net340 or RT860. Check to make sure RT860 is receiving information
from Server and check connections from game to net340. Clear error via key switch or game menu error stats.

Network Hard Reset

Net340 was rebooted or replaced. Clear error via key switch or error stats.

Sphinx Error

Game does not recognize the Sphinx chip on the Max Board. Reseed Chip or replace if needed.

Out of Service in Blue Letters

Game does not currently have a Profile loaded from the server. Pull Game Config or have profile pushed from server.

143 Error

GSL Services error. TAC/IAA will need to access the server to fix the error.

115 Error

Caused by no Game Profile loaded onto Server or GSL Error. Hard Reset of game may be required to clear.

153 Error

GSL error during Claim Process

Status 1

Game does not see the Dkey. Verify Dkey is plugged in and not plugged in backwards on the board. or swap
connections on dkey and reboot.

PIC17 Timeout/Sound Controller

Check GSL chip on board is fully seated. Reseed Max board. If issue continues replace chip or replace Max
board. This chip Is ordered via Software.

Game does not boot but max board has power

Check to make sure Software Dimm

Game Boot Looping

Check power supplies. If power supplies are good unplug distro for 30 seconds and plug back in. If game
continues to boot loop reseed software on max board and reseed max board. If game still boot loops ram clear game. If boot loop continues replace max board.

Entire game theme boot looping

Check to make sure Net340 is working properly, If Net340 is working properly, Power each game off 1 at a time to see if the games stop rebooting. If games stop rebooting one of the the games you powered off is causing a network issue. Find that game and replace Max Board. If this does not fix your issue make sure your connections from the Games to Net340 are secure and no other cables are plugged in.

Messages Stacking

If you see in the top right corner of the menu screen a MICS # then you do not have full connectivity to the
Server. Check all your components to verify they are working from game to server and call TAC if the hardware is not the issue.

Monitor black but has Orange light on back

Replace Monitor Power Supply.

Bill Acceptor/Printer/Lighting not working

Check 24v Power supply and replace if needed.

Max Board has no Power

Check ATX Power supply, if 5v or 12v are not working replace ATX Power supply.
