Curve Monitor Eclipse Strobing

The newest revision of Curve monitors requires a firmware upgrade on the CLS5 in order for the eclipse lighting to operate correctly.  This firmware will not be officially released however because it is not backwards compatible.  R&D is working on a new firmware version that will support both revisions of monitors, but in the meantime, we will ship a CLS5 with any Curve monitor replacement orders.  The attached document will be adhered to the Curve monitor packaging as a reminder.  The CLS5 will be in the box with the monitor.  The attached picture shows a curve monitor packaged with the notice attached.  The CLS5 is shown for reference but will be inside the monitor box.   

Also, some units recently shipped and/or replacement monitors may display one of the following:

1. The color of the eclipse ring of the monitor and the topper may be mismatched

2. The eclipse lighting may exhibit a strobing effect.

In this case, we will need to replace BOTH the CLS5 and the bottom eclipse lighting PCB.  We believe this should only affect a small number of customers (less than 10).   These must be replaced at the same time before a technician applies power to the machine or the CLS5 may get permanently damaged.
