PAXs Outfeed Sensor Update

In some cases, high intensity light shining down on the Outfeed tray of the PAX-S shuffler will cause
strange behavior. In most cases, the shuffler senses a card in the Outfeed Tray when there isn’t one.

In order to fix this, there is an optical barrier that is attached to the sensor board under the red lens.
This sensor board will need to be replaced with one that has an optical barrier attached.

To install the updated sensor board:

  1. Remove the Outfeed Tray.

  1. Remove the three screws holding the metal cover over the sensor board using a 1.5mm hex
    screwdriver.

  2. Use the 1.5mm hex screwdriver to remove the two screws holding the board in place.

  3. Remove the harness connector from the PCB.

  4. Plug the harness connector into the replacement board. Make sure it’s in all the way. There should not
be a gap between the two connectors.

  5. Screw the updated board to the shuffler. Put the screw near the optical barrier in first since it fits
    under the optical barrier.

  6. Replace the metal cover. Reattach it with the 3 screws using the 1.5mm hex screwdriver.

  7. Replace the Outfeed Tray. Clean the red lens if it’s dirty.
