Power Saving Mode - (for cruise ships)
Overview
Power saving mode is an toggleable “mode” which attempts to save power by turning off the largest energy consumers on an EGM without shutting down the machine entirely. Primarily, power saving mode turns off all light emitting devices such as monitors and decorative lights.
Although the monitors are off, the game remains playable
Entering Power Saving Mode
Power saving mode has three mechanisms by which it may be enabled.
Operator menu
Power saving mode can be enabled using the “Exit to low power mode” in the Control
menu. After this button is pressed, Power saving mode will begin once the operator menu is exited (“Exit to Game” button)
You will be reminded by a prompt that the EGM will enter power saving mode upon exiting the operator menu
The “Exit to Low Power Mode” shall turn green to indicate that Power Saving mode will be enabled when the user exits the operator menu.
Remote Entry
Power saving mode can be optionally enabled remotely via SAS long poll 0x01 Shutdown (lock out play)
or, for Class 2 systems, the EpsController
software on the game server.
Remote Power Saving Mode MUST be enabled in the Options menu on the EGM
